Annie Cattrell - Transformation

This 15x10m wall artwork by Annie Cattrell is installed on a prominent corner of the new science centre at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

The artwork consists of 17056 colour anodised aluminium plates suspended on hard anodised aluminium brackets, which allow them to pivot. These are mounted on composite panels with welded aluminium backing frames. The sensitivity in reflection of light from the brushed and anodised plates combined with an often subtle movement in the wind produces a digital-like animated effect.

Other Fabrications worked with the artist from the concept stage, developing, prototyping and testing the system, which was an entirely bespoke design. We then fabricated and installed the artwork.
